New United States Guidelines Classify Nations with Diversity Programs as Human Rights Infringements

Government complex

Countries pursuing ethnic and sexual inclusion policies initiatives can now face the Trump administration labeling them as breaching human rights.

The State Department is issuing updated regulations to all US embassies involved in assembling its annual report on worldwide freedom breaches.

Updated guidelines additionally classify states that subsidise pregnancy termination or facilitate mass migration as infringing on fundamental freedoms.

Major Policy Shift

The new guidelines reflect a significant change in Washington's established focus on worldwide rights preservation, and indicate the extension into foreign policy of American government's national priorities.

An unnamed US diplomat stated the new rules represented "an instrument to modify the behaviour of national authorities".

Understanding DEI Policies

Diversity programs were created with the objective of bettering circumstances for specific racial and population segments. Upon entering the White House, the US President has vigorously attempted to eliminate inclusion initiatives and reinstate what he describes merit-based opportunity across America.

Classified Violations

Further initiatives by overseas administrations which US embassies receive directives to categorise as human rights infringements encompass:

  • Subsidising abortions, "including the total estimated number of annual abortions"
  • Gender-transition surgery for children, described by the state department as "procedures involving physical modification... to change their gender".
  • Enabling large-scale or illegal migration "over international boundaries into different nations".
  • Arrests or "government inquiries or admonishments regarding expression" - reflecting the American leadership's objection to digital security measures adopted by some European countries to deter online hate speech.

Leadership Stance

State Department Deputy Spokesperson the official declared the new instructions are meant to stop "new destructive ideologies [that] have provided shelter to human rights violations".

He stated: "US authorities refuses to tolerate such rights breaches, such as the physical modification of youth, statutes that breach on free speech, and ethnicity-based prejudicial hiring procedures, to continue unimpeded." He continued: "This must stop".

Dissenting Viewpoints

Detractors have claimed the leadership of redefining long-established international freedom standards to advance its philosophical aims.

A former senior state department official presently heading the freedom advocacy group said American leadership was "utilizing global freedoms for domestic partisan ends".

"Trying to classify inclusion programs as a rights breach establishes a fresh nadir in the Trump administration's employment of global freedoms," she said.

She added that the updated directives excluded the entitlements of "women, sexual minorities, religious and ethnic minorities, and non-believers — all of whom hold identical entitlements under US and international law, notwithstanding the circuitous and ambiguous liberty language of the US government."

Established Framework

US diplomatic corps' yearly rights assessment has consistently been viewed as the most comprehensive study of this category by any nation. It has recorded violations, encompassing torture, non-judicial deaths and political persecution of demographic groups.

The majority of its attention and scope had continued largely unchanged across Republican and Democrat leaderships.

These guidelines come after the Trump administration's publication of the current regular evaluation, which was extensively redrafted and reduced compared to earlier versions.

It decreased criticism of some United States friends while increasing criticism of identified opponents. Complete segments present in prior evaluations were excluded, substantially limiting documentation of issues comprising state dishonesty and persecution of sexual minorities.

The evaluation further declared the human rights situation had "deteriorated" in some European democracies, comprising the United Kingdom, French Republic and Germany, due to laws against digital harassment. The language in the report mirrored earlier objections by some United States digital leaders who object to internet safety measures, characterizing them as assaults against free speech.
